This is one of the many churches through Italy and in particular the Lucca area in gentle decline. Low birth rates have depopulated this wealthy area. Thankfully the houses that formed part of this hilltop gem have been refurbished by a nearby hotel named  Villa Volpi named after a famous Bishop of Lucca.
